Legal
Terms of Use
Effective October 3, 2026
Please read these terms carefully. By using Startline in any way, you agree to them.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Aditya Patil, an individual who operates Startline ("Startline", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the website at startline.fit, the Startline MCP server at startline.fit/mcp, the documentation, guides, example prompts and templates we publish, and every piece of data, text or output delivered through any of them (together, the "Service").
By visiting the website, connecting the MCP server to any application, sending a request to the Service, or using any data returned by it, whether directly or through an AI application, agent, script or other software acting for you, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree to every part of these Terms, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company, institution or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and that organisation.
You are responsible for every request made to the Service by software you configure, authorise or run, including AI assistants and autonomous agents, exactly as if you had made each request yourself.
2. What Startline is, and what it is not
Startline is an informational search index. It collects job listings and company information that third parties have made publicly available, organises that information, and makes it searchable by AI applications through the Model Context Protocol.
Startline is not, and nothing in the Service makes it:
- an employer, a prospective employer, or an agent of any employer;
- a recruiter, recruitment agency, staffing firm, placement service, headhunter or employment agency of any kind;
- a party to, or an intermediary in, any application, interview, negotiation, offer, contract or employment relationship;
- a career counsellor, legal adviser, immigration adviser, financial adviser, tax adviser or investment adviser;
- a partner, affiliate, representative or authorised agent of any company, investor, accelerator, applicant tracking system or AI provider named or linked in the Service.
We do not post jobs on behalf of companies, we do not receive or forward applications, we do not screen candidates, and we do not screen, interview, verify or endorse the companies listed. The appearance of a company, investor or role in the Service is not a recommendation, endorsement, certification or statement of quality, legitimacy, solvency or suitability.
3. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you are at least 16 years old and are legally able to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use the Service if doing so is prohibited by any law that applies to you. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of the place you are in, including laws about employment, work authorisation, automated tools and data protection.
4. Job listings and data: no guarantee of accuracy
All listings, company profiles, figures and statistics in the Service are gathered by automated means from third party public sources. We do not write them, we do not review them individually, and we do not control the sources they come from. They are provided for general information only.
We make no representation, promise or guarantee, and accept no responsibility, concerning any of the following:
- whether a listing is accurate, complete, genuine, current, lawful or free from error;
- whether a role is still open, was ever open, has been filled, paused, withdrawn or reposted, or exists at all;
- the title, duties, seniority, requirements, location, remote or hybrid status, working hours, start date, duration or team of any role;
- salary, stipend, equity, bonus, benefits or any other compensation, whether stated, estimated or implied;
- visa sponsorship, work authorisation, relocation support, or eligibility of any person for any role;
- funding amounts, funding stage, valuation, investors, headcount, headquarters, industry, description or any other fact about a company;
- whether an apply link works, leads to the intended page, or leads to a site operated by the company named;
- dates, including posting dates and the date the index was last updated;
- counts, totals, rankings and statistics shown on the website, in the documentation or in tool output;
- the absence of duplicates, omissions, misclassification, mistranslation or truncation.
Words such as "live", "open", "fresh", "updated", "real", "top" and "every", wherever they appear in the Service, describe our aim and are not statements of fact, warranties or guarantees. The index is a snapshot taken at intervals and can be out of date the moment it is published.
You must independently verify every material detail directly with the company concerned before you rely on it, act on it, or make any decision because of it. The company's own official website and its official communications are the only authoritative source. If the Service and the company disagree, the Service is wrong.
We have no obligation to update, correct, complete or maintain any information, and we may add, change or remove any listing, company or data field at any time without notice.
5. No employment outcomes and no advice
We do not promise, and nothing in the Service should be read as promising, that you will find a suitable role, be considered, receive a reply, be interviewed, receive an offer, be hired, be paid, or remain employed. Any decision about your application belongs entirely to the company you apply to, and we have no influence over it.
Nothing in the Service is legal, immigration, tax, financial, investment, career or other professional advice. Information about a company's funding or investors is not a recommendation to work for it, invest in it, or rely on its financial stability. Startups carry a high risk of failure, layoffs, delayed pay and changes of plan, and you accept that risk when you choose to apply to or join one.
We do not investigate the companies or listings in the index. We are not responsible for fraudulent, misleading, discriminatory, unlawful or unsafe listings, employers or recruiters, or for anyone impersonating a company. Be cautious: a genuine employer will not ask you to pay a fee, buy equipment, hand over bank credentials or send money in order to be hired. Any dealing you have with a company or person you find through the Service is solely between you and them.
You are solely responsible for assessing whether any role, company, offer or contract is right for you, lawful for you, and safe for you.
6. Third party sites, services and links
The Service links to and depends on websites, products and services that we do not own or control. These include company career pages, applicant tracking systems, the sources our data is gathered from, AI applications and models, MCP clients, browser automation tools, and hosting and analytics providers.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, privacy practices, terms or conduct of any third party. A link is not an endorsement. When you follow a link or use a third party product you leave the Service, and your use is governed by that third party's own terms and policies, which you are responsible for reading and following.
We are not responsible for any personal information, document, resume or other material you give to a third party, or for what that third party does with it.
Setup instructions for third party applications are provided for convenience. Those applications change without notice, and we do not warrant that any instruction is current, correct, safe or supported by the third party.
7. AI output and automated agents
The Service is designed to be used through AI applications that we do not build, operate or control. An AI application may misread, misquote, summarise incorrectly, invent, omit or alter information returned by the Service, and may present its own output as if it came from Startline. We are not responsible for anything an AI application says or does. Treat every AI answer as unverified.
Our documentation describes ways to have an AI agent search for roles and complete application forms, including an "auto apply" workflow, example prompts and a profile template. These materials are general illustrations only. We do not operate, supervise or control any agent, we do not apply to jobs for you, and we do not warrant that any workflow, prompt or template is accurate, safe, effective, lawful where you live, or permitted by the sites it touches.
If you choose to use any automated or agent based workflow, you do so entirely at your own risk and you alone are responsible for:
- every application, form, message, document and statement submitted in your name, whether you reviewed it or not;
- the truth, accuracy and completeness of everything you give the agent and everything it submits;
- any error, fabrication, duplicate, misdirected or unintended submission made by the agent;
- compliance with the terms of use, acceptable use rules and technical restrictions of every website, employer and applicant tracking system the agent interacts with, many of which restrict or prohibit automated activity;
- any consequence, including rejection, blocking, account suspension, being barred from future consideration, reputational harm, or legal claims by a third party;
- any cost you incur, including fees charged by AI providers;
- the security of your device, accounts, files and personal information while an agent has access to them.
You must not instruct or allow any agent to bypass a CAPTCHA, login, paywall, rate limit or other access control, to misrepresent your identity or qualifications, or to break any law.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and in good faith. You must not, and must not allow anyone else or any software to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harassing, discriminatory or harmful purpose;
- use the Service to send spam, bulk unsolicited messages or abusive volumes of applications to any company or person;
- submit false, misleading or impersonating information to any company;
- collect or use information from the Service to contact, profile, harass or harm any individual;
- send requests at a volume or frequency that burdens, degrades or disrupts the Service, or attempt to overload, attack, probe or scan it;
- bypass or interfere with any rate limit, security measure or technical restriction;
- introduce malware or any harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system;
- present the Service or its data as your own, or state or imply that we endorse you, your product or your service;
- use the Service in any way that infringes the rights of a third party or breaches a third party's terms;
- use the Service in breach of export control or sanctions laws.
We may, at our sole discretion and without notice or liability, limit, throttle, block or suspend any request, client, address or user for any reason, including suspected breach of these Terms.
9. Intellectual property and third party marks
The Startline name, logo, website design, documentation, original text and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non exclusive and non transferable permission to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Company names, product names, logos, trade marks and job content shown in the Service belong to their respective owners. They are used only to identify the companies and roles concerned. Their use does not indicate any affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement of Startline, and we claim no ownership of them.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty free right to use them for any purpose without obligation to you.
10. Corrections and removal requests
If you represent a company or rights holder and want a listing, logo, description or other item corrected or removed from the Service, contact us using the details in the Contact section. Identify the item, explain the request, and state your authority to make it. We will review good faith requests and act on them within a reasonable time.
Acting on a request is a courtesy and is not an admission of liability, wrongdoing or infringement. Because the index is rebuilt from third party sources, removed material may reappear, and material may persist for a time in caches and in the output of third party AI applications that we do not control.
11. Privacy and usage data
The Service needs no account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, resume or password.
When the MCP server receives a request, we record operational usage data: the tool called, the search terms and filters sent with it, the number of results, response time, the name and version of the client application, the browser or client user agent, the approximate country, and a rotating identifier derived by one way hashing that lets us count distinct users without retaining IP addresses. The website uses a privacy focused analytics product from our hosting provider to measure page visits. Our hosting provider also processes technical data, including IP addresses, in order to deliver the Service.
Search terms are recorded as sent. Do not include personal, confidential or sensitive information, about yourself or anyone else, in a search or any other request to the Service. If you do, you do so at your own risk.
We use usage data to operate, secure, measure and improve the Service. We do not sell it. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not guarantee the security of any data.
Your resume and personal details are handled by the AI application you use and by the companies you apply to, under their own policies, not ours.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is offered free of charge, as a voluntary project, with no service level, uptime, support or maintenance commitment of any kind. It may be slow, interrupted, incomplete or unavailable at any time.
We may change, limit, suspend or permanently discontinue the Service, or any tool, feature, data source or part of it, at any time, for any reason, without notice and without liability to you. We may introduce limits, authentication or charges in the future.
You are responsible for your own equipment, software, connectivity and backups. Do not rely on the Service as your only source for anything that matters to you.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE, AND ALL DATA, CONTENT, DOCUMENTATION, PROMPTS, TEMPLATES AND OUTPUT MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH IT, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS, AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, RELIABILITY AND QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, THAT ANY INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, CURRENT OR COMPLETE, THAT ANY LISTING IS GENUINE OR STILL OPEN, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS OR PRODUCE ANY RESULT.
NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICE CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STARTLINE, ITS OPERATOR, AND ANY CONTRIBUTORS, LICENSORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (TOGETHER, THE "STARTLINE PARTIES") WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF INCOME, EARNINGS, EMPLOYMENT, OPPORTUNITY, PROFIT, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, REPUTATION OR DATA, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, THE STARTLINE PARTIES HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR HARM ARISING FROM OR CONNECTED WITH:
- ANY INACCURATE, INCOMPLETE, OUTDATED, MISLEADING, FRAUDULENT OR MISSING LISTING, COMPANY INFORMATION, STATISTIC OR LINK;
- ANY DECISION YOU MAKE OR ACTION YOU TAKE OR DO NOT TAKE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LEAVING A JOB, DECLINING AN OFFER, RELOCATING, OR SPENDING TIME OR MONEY;
- ANY APPLICATION, REJECTION, INTERVIEW, OFFER, WITHDRAWN OFFER, CONTRACT, EMPLOYMENT, DISMISSAL, UNPAID WAGES OR DISPUTE WITH ANY COMPANY OR PERSON;
- THE ACTS, OMISSIONS, CONTENT OR CONDUCT OF ANY EMPLOYER, RECRUITER, THIRD PARTY SITE, AI APPLICATION, MODEL, AGENT OR TOOL;
- ANYTHING SUBMITTED BY YOU OR BY ANY SOFTWARE ACTING FOR YOU;
- ANY INTERRUPTION, SUSPENSION, CHANGE OR DISCONTINUATION OF THE SERVICE;
- ANY UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO, OR LOSS OR ALTERATION OF, YOUR DATA, DEVICES OR ACCOUNTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL COMBINED LIABILITY OF THE STARTLINE PARTIES FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) TEN US DOLLARS (USD 10).
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, THAT THESE LIMITS REFLECT A FAIR ALLOCATION OF RISK, AND THAT WE WOULD NOT OFFER THE SERVICE WITHOUT THEM. THE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
15. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Startline Parties from and against all claims, demands, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, penalties, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:
- your use or misuse of the Service;
- your breach of these Terms or of any law;
- anything submitted, sent or done by you or by any AI application, agent or software acting for you;
- your breach of any third party's terms or infringement of any third party's rights;
- any dispute between you and any company, recruiter or other third party.
We may take over the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
16. Release
If you have a dispute with any employer, recruiter, company, website, AI provider or other third party, you release the Startline Parties from every claim, demand and damage of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or connected with that dispute, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You waive any law that would otherwise limit a release to claims you know or suspect to exist at the time you agree to it.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising from or relating to them or to the Service, are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Startline resides, without regard to conflict of law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under the law of your own country, the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive authority over any such dispute, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought in your individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff or member of any class, collective or representative proceeding.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms must be brought within one year after the event giving rise to it. After that, the claim is permanently barred.
18. Rights that cannot be excluded
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liabilities to be limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, or removes any consumer right, that cannot lawfully be excluded, limited or removed. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limits in these Terms apply to the maximum extent the law allows, and our liability is limited to the minimum the law permits.
19. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by publishing an updated version on this page and changing the effective date. Changes take effect when published. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Service. It is your responsibility to check this page from time to time.
20. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by disconnecting it from your applications. We may suspend or end your access at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.
Sections 4 to 7, 9 and 13 to 21 continue to apply after you stop using the Service or your access ends.
21. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier understanding. Statements on the website or in the documentation are descriptive and do not form part of these Terms.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest will remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may transfer ours freely.
- No third party rights. These Terms give no rights to anyone other than you and the Startline Parties.
- No relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, employment or fiduciary relationship between you and us.
- Events beyond our control. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including failures of hosting providers, networks, data sources or third party services.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails.
- Headings and summary. Headings and the summary at the top of this page are for convenience only and do not change the meaning of these Terms.
22. Contact
Questions about these Terms, and correction or removal requests, can be sent to the operator of Startline through justaditya.com.
